SIX REASON TO RETIRE IN COSTA RICA

Hi my name is Gloria Solórzano. Today I would like to suggest to you six reasons why Costa Rica is an ideal dream country to retire.
I own a home in San Miguel de Sarapiqui Costa Rica. This place is amazing. Nature, food, good weather, security are some of the best assets of this beautiful country.

On this opportunity let’s talk about the other five reasons to retire in Costa Rica

AFFORDABLE AND QUALITY HEALTH CARE SYSTEM

Costa Rica provides universal health care to all its citizens and permanent residents.[1] Costa Rica offers some of the best health care in Central America.
Both private and public health care systems are available, with many new hospitals, new clinics, new machines, and improvement in staff and training. Statistics from the World Health Organization (WHO) frequently place Costa Rica in the top country rankings in the world for long life expectancy. WHO's survey ranked Costa Rica as having the 36th best health care system, placing it one spot above the United States at the time.[2] In addition, the UN (United Nations) has ranked Costa Rica’s public health system within the top 20 worldwide and the #1 in Latin America.  (Connolly, Greg (December 8, 2002). "Costa Rican Health Care:
A Maturing Comprehensive System". Warf, Barney (2010). "Do You Know the Way to San José? Medical Tourism in Costa Rica". Journal of Latin American Geography. 9 (1): 51–66.)

Many drugs (like birth control pills, high cholesterol medication, migraine medicine, etc.) are available in Costa Rica without a prescription.
Many common problems can be accurately diagnosed and treated by pharmacists. Also, most major pharmacies have a doctor on staff. Most Costa Ricans head to the pharmacy first and consult with the pharmacist or doctor on staff; if he or she cannot diagnose your ailment or believe you need further treatment, you will be sent to the hospital (Costa Rica Health Care". CostaRica.com. Retrieved 1 May 2012.)

THE SAME TIME ZONE AS THE USA

If you take a flight from Houston or Atlanta, it will take you two and a half hours to get to San Jose, Costa Rica.
Many airlines travel to this country, such as American, Continental, Spirit Airlines, and  many other US and International airlines also travel to Costa Rica.
The North American Central Time Zone (CST) is a time zone in parts of Canada, the United States, Mexico, Central America, some Caribbean Islands, and part of the Eastern Pacific Ocean. Central Standard Time (CST) is six hours behind Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) or (GMT.)

NO NEED TO SPEAK SPANISH

In Costa Rica, there are many expat communities that speak English.
For this reason, it is very easy to meet new friends. Costa Rica has a developed tourism industry where you can communicate in English at restaurants, with doctors, transportation, or other services that you need. An interesting fact is women have better English and Spanish skills than men.

You can experience everything from active volcanoes and thermal springs to lush rainforest and misty cloud forest, rolling breakers on the Pacific coast and turtle-hatching sites on the Caribbean coast and Pacific as well. And the distances are small, meaning you can easily criss-cross the country sampling its diversity and riches all within one trip.
Travel just an hour and a half east of the capital San José and you will arrive at the Irazú volcano – one of 129 that loom out of Costa Rica’s verdant landscape. Most of the country’s volcanoes are extinct or dormant, but five are historically active. Hike up to see its various craters and on a sunny day you can even see both coasts from this spot.

If you retired in Costa Rica you will have different adventures every day, the budget is affordable and you can have the time of your life.
